Mary Anderson
Mary Anderson, 92, formerly of Main Street in Lyndora, died Friday at the Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. She was a resident at Saxony Health Care Center in Saxonburg for the past five years.
Born Sept. 5, 1913, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of Harry Sr. and Julia Druga Franko.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and belonged to the ladies guild at her church for 58 years.
She also was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Michael Kosar American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, the Tanglewood Senior Center and the Lyndora Extension.
Surviving are a son, Edward R. Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Mimi) Como of New Kensington; and three brothers, Mike, Frank and Harry Franko, all of Butler. Eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was the widow of Edward E. "Red" Anderson, who died Oct. 1, 1978. Three brothers also preceded her in death.
ANDERSON — Friends of Mary Anderson, who died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lyndora, with the Rev. Dennis Bogda officiating.
