Betty Jane Hohn

Betty Jane Hohn, 79, of Oakland Township died at noon Monday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born Nov. 8, 1926, in Oakland Township, she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Sue Ann Dolan Hohn.

She was a member of the North Butler Presbyterian Church.

A 1945 alumna of Butler High School, she graduated from the Butler Nursing School in 1948 and was a nurse in a MASH unit during the Korean War.

She then was a registered nurse at various veterans' hospital and retired in January 1985 from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Miss Hohn was a member of the Lake Arthur and Hiland ladies golf leagues. She also belonged to bowling leagues and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Because of her love of animals, she donated to many charities for the protection of animals.

Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Fran Ponton of Dublin, Ohio; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Helen Hohn and John M. "Spike" and Mitzi Hohn, all of Oakland Township; 17 nieces and nephews; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death her stepmother, Marion Hohn; and two brothers, Charles Melvin and Frank Edward Hohn.
