Wallace 'Bud' Emery

Wallace L.. "Bud" Emery, 72, formerly of Emery Lane in Karns City, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center after a 10-year illness.

Born in Petrolia, Feb. 16, 1933, he was a son of Raymond R. and Emma Irene Shakley Emery.

He was at Protestant.

Mr. Emery had attended the Karns City schools and retired in 1995 from the acid plant at Witco Chemical Corp. in Petrolia after 44 years.

He enjoyed hunting and stockcar auto racing.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Elizabeth Whitmore Emery, whom he married July 22, 1955, in Callensburg; a son, Wallace L. "Wally" Emery and his wife, Peg, of Bruin; a daughter, Debbie Easley and her husband, James M., of Bruin; six grandchildren, Tara Renee Everetts and her husband, Rob, of East Brady, Gary A. Hillwig and his wife, Tiffiny, of Six Points near Parker, Steven Wallace Emery, Raymond Arthur Emery and Ryan M. and Eric J. Easley, all of Bruin; and a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Ann Hillwig of Six Points.

He also is survived by three brothers, Ronald Emery and his wife, Nancy, of Chicora, Dennis Emery and his wife, Eleanor, of Bruin and the Rev. Larry Emery and his wife, Diane of Massillon, Ohio; a niece, Beverly Serafine and her husband, Victor, of Chicora; and a nephew, Rodney Serafine of Kittanning.

EMERY — Friends of Wallace L. "Bud" Emery, who died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the RICHARD D. HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wade Berky, pastor of the Bruin United Methodist Church, and his brother, the Rev. Larry Emery, officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
