R. Wayne Harvey

R. Wayne Harvey, 70, of Sarver died Wednesday at his home.

Born Aug. 23, 1935, in Clinton Township, he was the son of Theodore and Bernice Shick Harvey.

There are no words that can explain what a phenomenal person Wayne was. He was a graduate of Winfield High School and then served in the Army. When he came home, he met his wife, Lois, at a square dance and has been with her ever since.

Mr. Harvey retired from Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg and since has enjoyed spending time with his wife, dancing with the Keystone Squares and helping others.

He was active at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver, where he served for years as an elder and clerk of session and was on several other committees. He served on the national level as a commissioner delegate of the Presbytery for the Presbyterian Church USA.

Mr. Harvey also was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed woodworking and making Christmas gifts.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Koch Harvey; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Alice) Mohn of Sarver; six brothers, Theodore Harvey

Jr. of Saxonburg, Williard Harvey of Chicora, Blair Harvey of Cabot, Lloyd Harvey of Cary, N.C., John Harvey of Baltimore, Md., and Bruce Harvey of Collinsville, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Mae Cute of Imperial, Mrs. Charles (Arlene) Clippard of Morganton, N.C., and Mrs. George (Helen Marie) Brosenitch of Cabot; and four granddaughters, Renee, Kristen, April and Vanessa.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Harvey.

HARVEY — Friends of R. Wayne Harvey, who died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 446, Saxonburg, PA 16056.
