Morrow Field House on the campus of Slippery Rock University hosts the PSAC Wrestling Championships Saturday.

The first session begins at 9 a.m. The championship session begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $2 for students per session, or $12 for adults and $3 for students for the entire tournament.

SRU's Charlie Pienaar (14-8 at 184 pounds) is The Rock's lone defending conference champion. Bloomsburg is the defending team champion.

Edinboro won six of the previous seven titles. SRU last won the team championship in 1975.

OAKLAND, Calif. — Free agent slugger Frank Thomas agreed to a $500,000, one-year contract with Oakland.Thomas, a two-time American League MVP who has been slowed by injuries in recent years, played his first 16 seasons with the Chicago White Sox, who won their first World Series title since 1917 last season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto won the compulsory dance at Four Continents.The three-time U.S. ice dance champions scored 38.23 points in their final tuneup before the Turin Olympics. Fellow Americans Morgan Matthews and Maxim Zavozin were second, followed by Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.Matt Savoie earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, and is in second place in the men's short program, less than two points behind Japan's Nobunari Oda.
