Mary Margaret Hartle

Mary Margaret Hartle, 62, of Butler died at 9 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 1, 1943, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Plummer E. and Pauline Charlotte McKissick Hartle.

She spent most of her time raising her grandchildren and her disabled great-grandson. In her earlier years, she was a caretaker and had worked in a bakery.

Her hobbies were collecting dolls and playing bingo.

Surviving are four daughters, Betty Mae Claypool of Erie, Mrs. Sean (Pauline) Wilinski of Winchester, Va., Anna Marie King of Florida and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ruth) Neal of Washington, Pa.; three sons, Tim Claypool of Winchester, Va., Leroy Claypool of Florida and Ralph Claypool of Butler; four grandchildren whom she raised, Corabeth, Tonya, and Jennie Elizabeth Claypool and Jacob King, all of Butler; 21 additional grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A brother, George L. "Skip" Hartle of Butler, also survives.

She was preceded in death two sisters and three brothers.

HARTLE — Friends of Mary Margaret Hartle, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Perkins, pastor of Oneida Valley Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the East Unity Cemetery, Cherry Valley.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
