William Leonhard Sr.

William E. Leonhard Sr., 83, of Richland Township died Monday evening at UMPC Passavant hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Pittsburgh on June 6,1922, he was the son of Harry and Isabel Leonhard.

He served in the Navy during World War II, and belonged to the Butler VFW and the American Legion.

Mr. Leonhard was a self-employed window washer.

He was a former member of the Hampton United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George (Margaret) "Peggy" Thieleman of Mars and Janet Moody of Evans City; three sons, William E. Leonhard Jr. and J. Dean Leonhard, both of Mars, and James J. Leonhard of Valencia; a sister, Edith Leonhard of Saxonburg; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Larkin Leonhard, who died in August 1988.

LEONHARD - Friends of William E. Leonhard Sr., who died on Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
