WEIGHT LOSS

St. Louis is 5-1-1 since trading Doug Weight after a 5-4 shootout win at Edmonton on Sunday. Despite the run, the Blues still have the second-worst record in the league and a Western Conference-low 41 points.

STREAKING

Detroit extended its winning streak to six games following a 6-3 win over Colorado on Sunday. The Red Wings also completed a four game season sweep of the Avalanche with the victory.

STRONG IN DEFEAT

J.P. Dumont had two goals in Buffalo's 4-3 shootout loss to Carolina. ... Ryan Smyth scored twice, but Edmonton lost 5-4 in a shootout to St. Louis.

SNAPPED

Edmonton rookie goaltender Mike Morrison suffered his first loss in six shootout tries after St. Louis beat the Oilers 5-4 on Sunday.

STRUGGLING

Chicago has not won in Anaheim since Feb. 7, 2001, going 0-7-2 in its last nine games at the Arrowhead Pond following a 4-1 loss to the Mighty Ducks on Sunday. The Blackhawks have won just once in their last 11 games overall against Anaheim. ... Phoenix has lost four straight and six of seven after a 5-4 overtime defeat to San Jose.
