Virginia J. O'Hare

Virginia J. O'Hare, 81, of 1331 Franklin Ave. died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at UPMC Northwest, Seneca, Venango County.

Born on July 16, 1924, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Ancel B. Chapin and Pansy Bowles Chapin.

She was a 1942 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

She was a secretary at Joy during World War II. Later she was a bookkeeper at J.C. Penny's and then as a secretary/receptionist for Dr. Fred Robbins.

Mrs. O'Hare was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Rocky Grove Fire Auxiliary, Rocky Grove Junior Women's Club, the Franklin Lioness Club and had served as a Brownie leader.

She was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed camping, playing cards and bowling.

Surviving her are her husband, Robert J. O'Hare, who she married on Dec. 3, 1945; three daughters, Roberta Lehman of Butler, Colleen Holtz of Franklin and Karen Harton of Bradenton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; a sister, F. Gail Weber of Annapolis, Md., a brother, George Chapin of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were a brother and two sisters.

O'HARE — Friends of Virginia J O'Hare, who died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the HUFF CHAPEL, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Peters, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church officiating.Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to UPMC Foundation, Margaret Stanish Diabetes Fund, 100 Fairfield Dr., Seneca, PA 16346.
