George W. Roofner

George W. "Bill" Roofner, 76, of Kittanning Hollow Road, East Brady, died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 25, 1929, in Washington Township, Armstrong County, he was the son of Raymond L. Roofner and Bertha

Hooks Roofner.

He lived in Armstrong County his entire life.

He retired from Schenley Distillery, where he worked as a laborer for 20 years.

He enjoyed hauling cattle, going to livestock auctions and county fairs.

Surviving him are his wife, Lois A. Miller Roofner of Ford City; two daughters, Cindy J. Dickson of Chicora and Sandra A. Haller of Mercer; two sons, John W. Roofner and Ronald D. Roofner, both of East Brady; a sister, Peggy Patsy of East Brady; three granddaughters, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding him in death was an infant son, a grandson, three sisters, and an infant sister.

ROOFNER — Friends of George W. "Bill" Roofner, who died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, will be received at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the SYNDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Cowansville, until the time of the funeral service at noon. The Rev. Terry Kennedy will officiate.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
