Lucky 7 play on
Experience won't be a factor on the bench when Knoch faces General McLane in the first-round of the PIAAClass AAAboys basketball tournament Friday night.
Both coaches have plenty of it. In fact, they combine for 953 victories in 46 years at their respective schools.
"We've heard a lot about Knoch basketball," McLane coach Andy Schulz said. "We know they have great guards and they'll be well-prepared."
The Lancers are coming off their fourth District 10 championship under Schulz, who has 443 wins in 22 seasons at McLane.
Shoop has 510 wins in 37 years of coaching, including 299 in 24 seasons at Knoch.
"I'm happy just being able to coach another game,"said Shoop, who is retiring along with longtime assistant Dee Faulx at the end of the season.
"We're playing an excellent basketball team. We have to shut them all down because they can all score."
