Roy W. Rugh
Roy W. Rugh, 73, of Buffalo Township died at 9 a.m. Thursday peacefully at his home.
Born in Export, Westmoreland County, Feb. 24, 1932, he was the son of John and Shara Frew Rugh.
He was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War.
Mr. Rugh was a truck driver at the Refiners Transport Terminal in East Butler for 23 years. After retiring, he drove a school bus for W.L. Roenigk in the Freeport School District for the past 7½ years. He was a member of the Teamster Joint Counsel 40, Pittsburgh.
He was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Sarver. He was the past master of the Pollock Lodge 502 F&AM of Tarentum, belonged to the Butler Moose Lodge, was a life member of the American Legion Post 226 of Brackenridge and a social member of the Sarver Volunteer Fire Department.
He was an avid Lernerville racetrack fan.
Surviving are his wife of more than 15 years, Beverly J. Morran Rugh; a stepson. Richard G. (Leigh Ann) Williams of Plum; two stepdaughters, Kathy (Alan) Kusenko of Ford City and Tammy (Greg) Johnston of Monroeville; and five step-grandchildren, Courtney Stiehl, Matthew, Jacob and Sydney Williams and Robert Johnston.
Also surviving are three brothers, Charles Rugh of Export, James Rugh of Vandergrift and Donald Rugh of Alvardo, Texas; two sisters, Kate Moudlin of North Huntington and Ruth Plachta of Blairsville, and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, the Rev. George Rugh, Albert Rugh and John Rugh, who died in infancy; and two sisters, Bertha Rugh and Mary Cramers.

Rugh, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Janet Eblin, his niece, officiating.
