Darrel Greg Monaghan
Darrel Greg Monaghan, 44, of 124 Valley View Drive died Thursday at his house.
Born Aug. 8, 1961, in Watertown, N.Y., he was the son of Charles E. Monaghan and the late Jean Arlene Thompson Monaghan.
He was a bridge surveyor who worked for the Massaro Construction Co., the A&L Construction Co., the Baker Heavy and Highway Co., the R.L. Johnson Construction Co., W.P. Dickerson and Sons, Inc., and the Mekis Construction Co.
He was a member of the Freeport Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where he was a youth instructor. He was also a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Mr. Monaghan was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving him are his wife, Jeanne D. Heffer Monaghan, to whom he was married to for 11 years; his father, Charles E. Monaghan of Liverpool, N.Y.; one brother, David Monaghan of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; two sisters, Jean Taggard and her husband, Steve, of Pittsburgh and Diana Monaghan and her husband, Hrayr Attarian, of Burlington, Vt.; his grandmother, Alice Thompson of Blairsville, and his nephew, Joseph Karl.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
<B>MONAGHAN</B> — Friends of Darrel Greg Monaghan, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Freeport Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Timothy Dietrich, the pastor, officiating. The burial will be private.Memorial donations may be made to the Freeport Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Youth Program.
