Clyde H. “Joe” Burk, 91, of Richland Township died Tuesday in the comfort of his home.

Born Feb. 3, 1915, in Gibsonia, he was the son of Frank and Anna Schweppe Burk.

He worked for the Bakerstown Garage for years and ultimately become the office manager for Tom Henry Chevrolet.

During World War II, he served with the Army in the Europe and ended his service in Germany at the end of the war.

Mr. Burk was a member of the John E. Mair Lodge F&AM 729.

He loved to farm and raised sheep and cattle on his farm. After retirement, he loved to play golf and spend time with friends and family.

He was the beloved husband of Ruth Marshall Burk, whom he married May 28, 1944; father of Rae “Gerry” Burk and Rody (Debra) Burk, both of Richland Township; and brother of Clifford Burk of Gibsonia. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Ashley Burk.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed, Frank, Elmer, Kenneth, and John; and three sisters, Gertrude Hagen, Ruth Burk and Irene Davis.

BURK — Friends of Clyde H. “Joe” Burk, who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Richland Township. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Darcy Hawk officiating. Burial will follow at Allegheny Memorial Park, McCandless Township.Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Hospice, 1221 N.
