James R. Hemphill
James R. Hemphill, 87, of Saxonburg Road, Butler, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Chicora, he was the son of the Ray Randall Hemphill and Wilheminia Ellenberger.
Mr. Hemphill was a retired foreman in electrical construction for AK Steel Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving in World War II.
Surviving are a wife, Betty J. Parks Hemphill, who he married on Nov. 11, 1945; a daughter, Anita Hemphill of Butler; three sons, Eric Hemphill of Seattle; Rodney Hemphill of San Francisco; and Ned Hemphill of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Lois Cockroft of Butler; five grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
