Virginia Halahurich Archer, 60, of Zuni, Va., died Tuesday at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va., surrounded by her family.

Born April 15, 1946, in Lyndora, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Hilda Halahurich.

Mrs. Archer was retired from the Suffolk School System, where she was a custodian. She was also a member of the Windsor, Va., chapter of the AARP.

Surviving are her husband, Jan D. Archer; two daughters, Kellie A. and husband Steve Redd of Suffolk, Va., and Michele A. and husband Tommie Bain of Windsor, Va.; a son, Robert M. and wife Christy Archer of Carrollton, Va.; five grandchildren, Dustyn, Zackary and Hunter Bain, and Thornton Redd and Seth Archer; a brother, Michael and his wife Mary Ellen Halahurich of Renfrew; and a sister, Sue Ann and her husband David Scott of Lyndora.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow at the Albert G.Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
