CONNEAUT LAKE — Ryan Prokay of Grove City won the Keystone Public Golf Association's P.J. Boatwright Junior Golf Qualifier Division C boys event at Oakland Beach Golf Club.

Prokay fired a 76, winning by eight strokes.

BENTLEYVILLE — Marissa DeCola of Slippery Rock captured first place in the girls 12-and-13 division of the Southwest Pennsylvania Junior Golf Tournament Tuesday at Chippewa Golf Club in Bentleyville.DeCola carded a 47 for nine holes to win the event.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates officially announced the signing of right-hander Brad Lincoln, the No. 4 pick in this month's major league draft, on Wednesday.The team agreed to terms with Lincoln last week including a $2.75 million signing bonus. The official announcement was delayed so Lincoln could receive the 20th annual Dick Howser Trophy, an award given to the 2006 college baseball player of the year, in Omaha, Neb., last Thursday.Lincoln, 21, was among the top pitchers in college baseball this season, with a 12-2 record and 1.69 ERA in 17 starts for Houston. The Conference USA pitcher of the year, Lincoln had two shutouts and 151 strikeouts in 127 2-3 innings.
