MARS — The borough will celebrate Independence Day with a parade, food, music and fireworks on Tuesday.

From 1 to 5 p.m. there will be an open swim at the Mars Pool on Stanton Avenue. Also starting at 1 p.m., two Mars teams in the Butler Eagle County Baseball League will face off at Marburger Field, said Mars Mayor Richard Settlemire.

Entries in the July 4 parade will line up at 5 p.m. The parade will go along Pittsburgh Street and Grand Avenue. The children's bike parade will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the July 4 parade at 6 p.m.

After the parade, along Grand Avenue, there will be food and music from the band Boogie Monsters.

Fireworks begin at 10 p.m., Settlemire said.
