Mary Lou Sherry
Mary Lou Sherry, 73, of Walnut Street, Emlenton, died at 12:50 a.m. Wed-nesday in her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 23, 1932, in Bryn Mawr, she was the daughter of Ward Thomas and Dorothy Louise Kirscht Steinmetz.
She was a graduate of Kittanning High School. Mrs. Sherry graduated as a registered nurse in 1953 from Allegheny Valley Hospital Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse, most recently at Clairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, from which she retired in 1997.
She was an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Emlenton.
Mrs. Sherry was also a homemaker and enjoyed reading, fishing, her family and her church.
She was married in St. John Lutheran Church, Kittanning, on Dec. 10, 1954, to O. Wayne Sherry, who died Sept. 12, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel and wife, Sherrie, of Smithfield, Va., and Dennis and wife, Marie, of Northville, Mich.; four daughters, Linda Sherry of Westminster, S.C., Karen Landon Geiger and husband, Kenneth, of Fredonia, Katherine Lawrence and husband, Gary, of Hillsborough, N.C., and Laura Camerlo and husband, Scott, of Freeport; seven grandchildren, Jesse Sherry of Smithfield, Va., Joseph Sherry and wife, Jessica, of Williamsburg, Va., James and Rebecca Landon of Fredonia, Leah Lawrence of Hillsborough, N.C., Matthew Sherry of Northville, Mich., and Morgan Camerlo of Freeport; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Abigail Sherry of Williamsburg, Va.
Mrs. Sherry was preceded in death by one brother, Ward J. "Mike" Steinmetz, and a sister, Shirley Mae Steinmetz Hubstenberger.
<B>SHERRY</B> — Friends of Mary Lou Sherry, who died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday in the <B>Hile Funeral Home</B>, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Carpenter, pastor, and the Rev.
