Jane F. Connell

Jane F. Connell, 71, formerly of Butler, died at 5 a.m. Thursday at the Fair Winds Manor in Sarver.

She was born in Butler on March 27, 1935, a daughter of the late Paul C. and Pearl Easley Randig.

Mrs. Connell had worked at the Bookstore of Butler County Community College for 14 years, until 1992. A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She also loved music and playing the piano.

A fun-loving person, she enjoyed her family and friends and belonged to her 500 Card Club for more than 40 years. She was also a member of the Butler County Chapter of the R.O.O.H.T (Turtle Club).

She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Butler and the Women's Council of St. Peters.

She was the widow of Charles E. Connell, whom she married April 28, 1956, and who died Sept. 8, 2005.

Surviving are two sons, William P. Connell of Pittsburgh and Timothy L. Connell of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Colleen) Gilliland and Mrs. John (Mary Beth) Galante, both of Butler; three brothers, Edwin P. Randig of Tamaqua, Pa., Joseph J. Randig of Butler and Richard Randig of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Patricia) Taggart and Mary Ellen Edinger, both of Butler, and Mrs. Robert (Martha) Simm of Chicora; six grandsons, Andrew and Alex Connell, Jon and Philip Galante, and Morgan and Shane Gilliland; a great-granddaughter, Maura Gilliland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>CONNELL</B> — Friends of Jane F. Connell, who died Thursday, June 1, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Peter Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. Burial will follow at the St. Peter Cemetery, Butler.The Women's Council of St. Peter's will recite the rosary at 10:40 a.m. Monday at the church.Additional information and condolence messages can be found at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
