Calvin H. Gibson

Calvin H. Gibson, 81, formerly of Elizabeth Drive, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Home in Greenville.

Born in Butler, July 2, 1924, he was the son of Homer and Edna Mae Henry Gibson.

He was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School and served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II.

Mr. Gibson had been a produce manager at Loblaws and Kroger supermarkets and retired in 1983.

He enjoyed golfing, reading and playing cards and was an avid Steelers fan.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Barton and her husband, Robert L., of Queens Creek, Ariz., and Donna Smith of Sharpsville; a son, Fred Heathcote and his wife, Barbara, of Greenville; a sister, Martha Stevenson of Saxonburg; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

His wife, Doris Wise Gibson, whom he married May 6, 1957, died June 17, 1985. He also was preceded in death by two sons, John and Ronald Heathcote.

<B>GIBSON </B>— Services for Calvin H. Gibson, who died Friday, June 16, 2006, were held at noon today at the chapel of the <B>John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory</B>, Hermitage. Burial was at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Condolences may be by emailed to remember@flynnfuneralhome.com.
