Berneta Forester
Berneta Lavelle Ruffaner Forester, 85, of 600 Cherry St., Worthington, died Saturday at the home of her nephew and niece, James H. and Fay Ann Cook.
Born Feb. 24, 1921, in Worthington, she was the daughter of John Clair and Besse Edwards Ruffaner.
She was raised in Worthington and had been the head cashier at the A&P grocery store in Kittanning for 38 years.
Mrs. Forester was a Baptist. She belonged to the Cowansville American Legion and enjoyed playing bingo at the Worthington American Legion Post.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. James H. (Virgina) Cook of Worthington; a niece Mrs. William (Lynette Sue) Arner of Freeport; three nephews, David (Chris) Ruffaner, James H. (Faye Ann) Cook and Rodney (Roseanne)Cook, all of Worthington; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Leona Ruffaner of Worthington.
Her husband, Dale T. Forester, whom she married March 4, 1950, preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Greer Ruffaner, and a sister, Wilma Mae Ruffaner.
<B>FORESTER </B>— Visitation was private. Services for Berneta Lavelle Ruffaner Forester, who died Saturday, June 17, 2006, were private and the Rev. Jonathan Speck officiated.
