5:12 p.m. Tuesday — Margaret Bobbert, 62, was arrested for allegedly assaulting her 20-year-old granddaughter during a domestic dispute at the defendant's Virginia Avenue home. Bobbert is charged with simple assault.Monday — Christina Cubbison reported that a red, push lawnmower was taken overnight from the backyard of her State Street home. The lawnmower is valued at $100.

Monday — A$50 Sheetz gas card and about $5 in change were taken from an unlocked vehicle at the Frieda Lane home of Nancy Grossman in Slippery Rock Township. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday.Monday — Acombined $20 in change was taken between 9 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday from two unlocked vehicles at the Sunshine Way homes of Craig Caldwell and Robert Coffaro in Slippery Rock Township.Sunday — Kristi Kiefer, 29, of Portersville was injured in a vehicle chase in Butler and Center townships that began when a man took pills from a purse in her car.Kiefer was in her parked car at a convenience store on Route 356 in Butler Township when the suspect, who police did not identify, reached into her vehicle and took the pills. He then drove off in his own vehicle.Police said Kiefer took off in her car and chased after the suspect on North Duffy Road in Center Township. During the chase, police said, both vehicles collided several times.The chase ended in a home's driveway on North Duffy Road where an unknown woman got out of the suspect's car and started assaulting Kiefer. Apassing motorist stopped and broke up the fight.Kiefer was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries suffered in the assault. Police said their investigation continues.

Tuesday — A burglar apparently came away empty handed Monday or Tuesday after breaking into Sligo Auto Salvage in Toby Township, Clarion County. The unknown suspect tried unsuccessfully to open a cash register at the business.

July 24 — Candy and food was taken from a concession stand near the soccer field during a burglary July 23 or 24 at Lobbie Hall Park in Freeport, Armstrong County.Police said the burglar or burglars used a pry bar to force open a door to the stand. An attempt to pry open a nearby soda machine failed.Damage in the break in was estimated at $1,300; the stolen property was valued at $80.

5:30 p.m. July 26 — AGrove City woman was injured when the motorcycle she was driving crashed on George Junior Road near Cranberry Road in Pine Township, Mercer County.Emily Ann Shollack, 22, was treated for minor injuries at Grove City Medical Center after she was thrown off her motorcycle that went off the road and hit a ditch. Apolice report did not indicate if she was wearing a helmet. Shollack was cited for a lane violation and driving an uninspected vehicle.
