Francis E. Mickey

Francis E. "Buck" Mickey, 69, of South Trail Drive, Penn Township, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday at his home.

Born in Poplar Grove, North-ampton County, Jan. 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Harrison "Pete" and Hestor Davis Mickey.

He retired as a foreman at the US Steel Saxonburg Plant. He then worked at Armstrong Cement in West Winfield and drove a school bus for W.L. Roegnik.

Mr. Mickey was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. Steele Mickey, whom he married April 11, 1960; a son, David F. Mickey of Butler; a daughter, Traci Mickey Necessary of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren, Cheyenne and Dakota Mickey and Jacob Necessary. He also is survived by a brother, James Mickey of Butler, and two nieces.

A son, Scott Mickey, preceded him in death.

<B>MICKEY</B> — Friends of Francis E. "Buck" Mickey, who died Monday, July 3, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Nixon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Merritt officiating. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.Memorial donations may be made to the Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road, Butler, PA 16002; or to the Hospice Program of Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
