Philomena Bucci

Philomena Bucci, 74, of Middlesex Township, formerly of East Liberty, died Monday afternoon at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born in Pittsburgh, Nov. 7, 1931, she was the daughter of Candido "Andrew" and Soccorsa Assunta Vitiello DeMasi.

Mrs. Bucci had been a waitress at Reymers in East Liberty and at the G.C. Murphy Co. in East Hills.

She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Glade Mills, where she belonged to the Widows and Widowers group, and was a former Eucharistic minister.

She also belonged to the Women's Club of Southern Butler County. She was an avid volunteer at the Broad Street Elementary School and enjoyed bowling and the Steelers.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles H. "Fritz" (Deborah) Fritzley II of Middlesex Township; a brother, Andrew DeMasi of Fox Chapel; and nieces and nephews.

Her husband, James G. Bucci, whom she married Jan. 12, 1957, died on April 11, 1973. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Philip DeMasi; and a sister, Sue Berrillo.

<B>BUCCI</B> — Friends of Philomena Bucci, who died Monday, July 10, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Glade Mills, with the Rev. Daniel Maurer officiating. Burial will be at the Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
