Glenn 'Friday' Myers
Glenn Porch "Friday" Myers, 89, of the Lowrie House in Butler Township, formerly of Freemont Street, died at 1:20 a.m. Monday at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born in Pitcairn, Feb. 17, 1917, he was the son of Dempsey and Grace Porch Myers.
He was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines and retired from the weld shop at Armco-Butler Works after 42 years.
Mr. Myers was a Protestant.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Dowdy and Mrs. Patrick (Sharon) Werner, both of Butler; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Cora Mae Davis of Alabama; a brother, Ray Myers of North Huntingdon, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
His wife, Lillian Pauline Myers, died Nov. 20, 1992. A sister and two brothers also preceded him in death.
<B>MYERS</B> — Friends of Glenn Porch "Friday" Myers, who died Monday, July 17, 2006, will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Woolner officiating.
