Will Nesbitt, 11, of Center Township won the singles and doubles portions of the Lakevue August Open's 14-year-old tournament recently.

Nesbitt won singles by defeating Cameron Flayer 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinals, Landon Williams 7-5, 6-1 in the semifinals and Bas Van Lent 7-5, 6-0 in the finals.

He teamed with Jonathan Perkins to win doubles by scores of 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinals, 1-6, 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals and 6-2, 6-1 in the finals.

SEATTLE — The New York Yankees placed right-hander Mike Mussina on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin, one day after they said they only expected him to miss one start.
