Walchesky, Beranty
Catherine Walchesky and Shawn Beranty, both of Butler, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. June 17 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. The Very Rev. Harry Bielewicz officiated. A reception followed at Laube Hall in Freeport Community Park.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Lucy Walchesky of Mechanicsburg. Parents of the bridegroom are Robert and Marlene Beranty of Worthington.
The honor attendants were Christina Schneider of Virginia and Brandy Lonchena of Butler. Bridesmaids included Susan Trapuzzano of Kennedy Township; Melanie Werner, Kim Schontz and Kristen Walchesky, all of Butler; and Anna Clark of Fenelton.
Serving the bridegroom as best man was Bob Beranty of Butler. Ushers were Dave Drake, Matt Dellen, Shawn Maley, Chad Plunkard and Jake Walchesky, all of Butler, and John Jamison of California. Joshua Jackson of Butler was a junior groomsman.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Butler High School. She attended Indiana (Pa.) University and graduated in 2001 from the Bradford School of Pittsburgh. She works as a paralegal at the Cohen Law Group in Pittsburgh.
The bridegroom is a 1990 graduate of Kittanning High School. He graduated in 1992 from Butler County Community College and attended Point Park University. He works at Allegheny Power in Kittanning.
Following a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, the couple is making their home in Butler.
