Robert W. McCabe

Robert W. McCabe, 79, died July 3.

He was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Zelienople, where he lived until age 33.

He and his family moved to California in 1960. He was a service manager for several large GM dealerships in Los Angeles area until his retirement.

His love for automobiles supplied him with not only a successful career, but also a beloved hobby. He had a special affinity for Pontiacs, which likely inspired him to seek employment maintaining them.

He had a passion for traveling by train, particularly on historic routes as well as collecting historical locomotive memorabilia.

He was a Catholic and a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Zelienople.

He is survived by his brother, Louie; two daughters, Melissa and Valerie; five grandchildren, Sonya, Jeffrey, Cory, Andrew and Devon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick J. and Margaret V. McCabe, and 12 brothers and sisters.
