Abels

Thomas J. Abels, 87, formerly of Shelbourne Assisted Living, died at 7:12 p.m. Wed-nesday at the Sunnyview Home.

Born in Pleasant Hills, Allegheny County, Dec. 17, 1918, he was the son of William and Cecelia K. Schiffhauer Abels.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Fennell Abels, who died May 15, 2004.

He retired as a self-employed farmer and as a steel fabricator at Pullman Standard.

Mr.Abels was a member of the Glade Run Church, where he was a former elder, deacon and trustee. He was a life member of the Jefferson Grange, the Butler Moose Lodge 64 and the Moose Legion.

Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert W. and Georgean Abels of Churchville, N.Y., T. William Abels of Meridian, Daniel W. and Pat Abels of Columbia, Tenn., and Larry P. and Suzette Abels of Renfrew; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

<B>ABELS </B>— Friends of Thomas J. Abels, who died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gregory Wiest, his church pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
