Woman found dead inside Adams home

Police are calling the circumstances that left a woman dead and a man unconscious inside their shared Adams Township home Monday evening "unusual and suspicious."

Neither the man, 25, nor the 21-year-old woman is being identified, pending notification of the woman's family.

Assistant Police Chief Ed Brooks said there was no reported trauma to the woman's body. The direction of the investigation will depend on the results of an autopsy and toxicology tests, he said.

Although an autopsy was planned for Tuesday afternoon, those results generally take weeks and sometimes months.

The man was taken from the Three Degree Road home by Quality Ambulance to UPMC Passavant Cranberry to be stabilized. Later, he was flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Brooks did not know if he ever regained consciousness.

Brooks would not say what the relationship between the man and woman was or if there were other people in the house at the time.

The Valencia Fire Department also responded to what was phoned in to 911 as a medical call.

Assistant District Attorney Patricia McLean would only say that the investigation is continuing.
