Roger W. Doughty

Roger W. Doughty, 78, of McCandless Road, Slippery Rock, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday at the Grove City Medical Center.

Born in Moon Township, Allegheny County, April 1, 1928, he was the son of Daniel. J. and Margaret Miller Doughty.

He retired in 1983 as a welder at Pullman Standard.

Mr. Doughty was an Army veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the Harrisville American Legion Post 852.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha R. VanWoert Doughty, whom he married Sept. 7, 1957; a daughter, Robin R. Arblaster and her husband, Dennis R., of Slippery Rock; two grandchildren, Ryan N. Arblaster and Fawn L. Toner and her husband, Joseph J.; and four great-grandchildren.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

<B>DOUGHTY </B>— Private visitation and services for Roger W. Doughty, who died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, were today at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, Harrisville. The Rev. A. James Lewis, pastor of the Branchton United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was at the Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township, Mercer County.A military service was conducted at the cemetery by the Moniteau Ceremonial Squad.Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
