Kikuko 'Khris' Whann

Whann

Kikuko "Khris" Whann, 77, of 211 Holyoke Road died Thursday at her home after being struck by a car.

She was born in Osaka, Japan on March 18, 1929, the daughter of Yoshizo and Kenue Mihamikawa.

She was a homemaker, and was formerly employed as a seamstress at Bobbie Brooks and the Butler Blind Association.

She was a member of the Sakura, which is a Japanese women's association.

She is survived by her son, Victor D. Whann and his wife, Robin, of Butler; her daughter-in-law Terry Whann of Michigan; four brothers, Takehira, Tadayoshi, Masahiko and Jun Mihamikawa, all of Japan; and two grandsons, Jacob and Nicholas Whann of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Whann, who died on April 29, 1996, and her son, William R. Whann, who died on Oct. 11, 2002.

<B>WHANN </B>— Friends of Kikuko "Khris" Whann, who died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the <B>MARTIN FUNERAL HOME</B>, 429 Center Ave. Services will follow at 8:30 p.m. with her brother-in-law, Rev. Michael Whann, officiating. She will be buried in Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial contributions may be made out to the American Heart Association.
