STUDENT PATROL
From left, Rocco Lucco and Captain Barbara Andrews, both of St. Michael School, graduated from school patrol training at Emily Brittain School on Aug. 27, 1965. Nearly 300 pupils were trained at their respective schools that week to ensure the safety of fellow students. Safety officer Harold L. Goettler, right, trained the pupils at St. Michael School to become hall monitors and crossing guards. Today, the Butler School District employs 10 adults as crossing guards. St. Michael School has since merged with St. Paul School to create Butler Catholic School, which meets at the St. Paul School building. It has one crossing guard, whom it shares with Butler School District.
