Richard Eugene Schmeider, 55, of Leesburg, Va., died Monday at the Georgetown Hospital, Washington, D.C.

Born May 23, 1951, in Butler, he was the son of Agnas G. Kradel Schmeider and the late Herbert C. Schmeider Sr.

He was an avid fisherman and lived in Lorton, Va., for many years before moving to Leesburg in 2001.

He is survived by his wife of four years, Bonnie Jean Schmeider of Leesburg; his mother, Agnas G. Schmeider of Butler; two children, Nathan Schmeider of Haymarket, Va., and Courtney Schmeider of Richmond, Va.; and a grandson, Rhett Schmeider Griffith. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry Schmeider of Fairfax Station, Va., and Herbert Schmeider Jr. of Butler, and a host of other relatives and friends.

<B>SCHMEIDER </B>— Friends of Richard Eugene Schmeider, who died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Loudoun Funeral Chapel</B>, 158 Catoctin Circle S.E., Leesburg, Va. Services will follow at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Edwin Urban officiating.
