Thomas 'Mac' McPherson Sr.

Thomas W. "Mac" McPherson Sr., 68, of Carbon Center Road, Fenelton, died at 6:53 p.m. Monday at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born Aug. 17, 1938, in Reynoldsville, he was the son of the late Ralph McPherson and the late Eula Snyder.

He served in the Air Force and retired in 2000 from the tractor shop at AK Steel.

Mr. McPherson was a Protestant. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 694 F&AM, New Castle Consistory and Happy Hunters Sportsman's Club.

He also belonged to the Butler County Horseshoe League and was the world champion Class M horseshoe pitcher in 2002. He was an avid hunter.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Stiffler McPherson, whom he married Nov. 8, 1958; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas W. McPherson Jr. of Fenelton, Ralph and Lori McPherson of Butler, and John F. "Bones" and Debra McPherson of Dayton, Pa.; two daughters and their spouses, Connie and Douglas Hillberry of Fenelton and Karen and Bruce Edwards of Harmony; a sister, Mrs. Don (Connie) McElhaney of Fenelton; and four brothers, Ronald, John and Charlie McPherson, all of Butler, and Richard McPherson of Meridian.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Thomas W. III, Daniel, Ralph Jr., Abigail, Michael, John and Taylor McPherson and Emily and Melissa Wise; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Zachary Holmes, preceded him in death.

<B>MCPHERSON </B>— Friends of Thomas W. "Mac" McPherson, who died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Strobel, pastor of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.Members of Masonic Lodge 694 F&AM will hold a service at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
