Brittany Lyons finished third and Nate King placed fourth, respectively, for the Slippery Rock girls and boys cross country teams at the District 10 Region 2 meet, held Saturday in Titusville.

Lyons' time of 21 minutes, 23 seconds helped the girls squad place second with a score of 51, three behind Titusville.

Andrea Shaffer also had a strong showing for the Rockets, coming in fourth overall.

King crossed the finish line in 18:19, as Slippery Rock's boys placed fourth as a team with a score of 80. Meadville placed first with a 53.

Both squads will now prepare for the District 10 Championships, scheduled for Saturday in Sharon.
