David Scott "Scotty" Kirkpatrick, 28, of Polk, Venango County, formerly of Butler, died Saturday.

Born June 11, 1978, in Butler, he was the son of John Scott Kirkpatrick and Debra Ruth Kuhns Kirkpatrick.

He had attended the Hill United Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Kirkpatrick, a 1996 graduate of Butler High School, graduated with honors from the Pittsburgh Technical Institute and worked at Time Machine in Franklin.

He loved outdoor sports including fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing and riding trail bikes.

Surviving are his parents of Polk; a daughter, Novalee Kirkpatrick of Kannapolis, N.C.; and two sons, Donovan and Alexander Kirkpatrick, both of Kannapolis. He also is survived by his maternal grandparents, Juanita and Ollie Kuhns of Utica, Venango County; his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Kirkpatrick of Butler; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle.

<B>KIRKPATRICK </B>— Friends of David Scott Kirkpatrick, who died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Porter, pastor of the Hill United Presbyterian, officiating.
