Lawana Baptiste

Lawana B. Baptiste, 67, of Butler died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 11, 1939, in Rural Valley, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Leola A. Walters McClanahan.

She was a graduate of Shannock High School.

Mrs. Baptiste was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting.

Surviving are her husband, Regis J. Baptiste, whom she married Feb. 20, 1960; three sons, Mark R. and Dana R. Baptiste, both of Butler, and Darrin J. Baptiste of Weirton, W.Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Dale R. "Butch" (Colleen L.) Wadding of Dayton, Pa.; a granddaughter, Amber C. Wadding of Dayton; a grandson, Devon J. (Brittany) Baptiste of Butler, and a great-granddaughter, Karma C. Baptiste.

She also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Wilmer (Audrey) Goldstrom of Rural Valley, Mrs. John (Bonnie) Jordan of Dayton and Evalyeen Green of Ford Cliff.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Ted McClanahan, and a sister, Genevieve Sybert.

<B>Baptiste</B> — There will be no visitation for Lawana B. Baptiste, who died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007. Private services will be held for the family.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA, 16053.Cremation services were provided by the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, and information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
