Olivia A. Barbiaux
Olivia A. Barbiaux, 102, died Tuesday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, where she lived for the past five years.
Born April 20, 1904, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of Ernest and Charlotte Gobert Barbiaux.
She had attended the Tarentum public schools and had worked at the PPG Bindery in Pittsburgh. She then worked at the Baird Inc. print shop until her retirement in 1970.
Miss Barbiaux was a former member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Tarentum.
She enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles and especially her family.
She is survived by a niece, Mardelle Arnold of Zelienople, with whom she lived for years; a nephew, Edward F. Arnold Jr. of Leominster, Mass.; a niece, Charlotte Massung and her husband, Frank, of Ellwood City, her caregivers; a devoted great-niece, Melissa Weaver of Butler; and a great-nephew, Mark Weaver and his family of Harrisburg.
Also surviving are four additional nieces, Joanne Doles of North Carolina, Normadine Banish of South Carolina, Nancy Mark of New York and Elaine Pesanski of Lower Burrell; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Arnold; two brothers, George and Raymond Barbiaux; a niece, Dolores Balash, and a great-nephew, Brian Arnold.
<B>BARBIAUX </B>— Friends of Olivia A. Barbiaux, who died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B>, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
