Edith A. Sigmund
Edith A. Sigmund, 89, of Fombell, formerly of Venice, Fla., died Wedn-esday at Ellwood City Hospital.
Born July 9, 1917, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Fred and Gertrude Moscrop Smith.
Mrs. Sigmund had been a licensed practical nurse for 31 years at Venice Hospital in Florida and previously had worked at Bellevue Hospital.
She attended First Baptist Church of Zelienople.
She enjoyed bocci, shuffleboard, sewing and playing cards.
Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie J. Swartzwelder of Fombell; a son, Jack W. Sigmund Jr. of Cranberry Township; a niece, Lydia Wituszynski of Ingomar; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Buddy" Sigmund, who died in 1991; three brothers; and five sisters.
