Wrong to rehash tragedy
I am writing regarding the Butler Eagle's three-article exposé dealing with the tragic double murder/suicide that took place on Dec. 25 in Butler.
It is my opinion that this was offensive and demonstrated very poor judgment on the Eagle's part in featuring it so prominently for three days. I feel there was absolutely no reason to rehash this horrific event, let alone to describe it in such graphic detail.
Also very disturbing was the fact that the violent acts of a very disturbed man were sensationalized, and he was given even more publicity.
Did the Eagle ever consider how this series of articles would affect the families and friends of Drew and Debby Chuba, or did the newspaper just see dollar signs?
The tragic events were brought up again, and her children and family were forced to see in black and white what they have been trying so hard to forget while trying to find the strength to go on each day.
I live in Beaver County and do not have daily access to the Butler Eagle. However, it is my hope and prayer that this will be the end of the continuing, unnecessary coverage of what happened on Christmas Day.
