'Monsters' letter tasteless
I am writing to register my opinion that I believe Gary Neely's Feb. 23 letter, "Good place for 'monsters' " is the most tasteless letter I've ever seen on the Butler Eagle's editorial page.
To cite a tragic and horrific event in our town (a suicide victim hanging from the General Richard Butler Bridge) and twist it to meet his biased political views was insidious and beyond the pale.
So, Neely would like to see "liberal" lawyers and judges hanging from that bridge as well? What kind of a sick idea is that? It reminds me of the tactics of Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot.
Besides, a little research would show that conservative lawyers defend the guilty also, and conservative judges make bad decisions too.
However, Neely will use any analogy he can conceive to further his never-ending rants against all that he perceives as "liberal."
The letter in question was the zenith of ignorance.
Neely should give it up before he embarrasses himself any further.
