Philip W. Grabman
Philip W. Grabman, 92, of Evans City died Friday evening at Forum Health Hospital in Ohio.
Born in Forward Township, Dec. 20, 1914, he was the son of Henry and Mary Burr Grabman.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City, where he was active in various church functions.
Mr. Grabman was a 1932 graduate of Zelienople High School and 1937 alumnus of Penn State University.
He was a World War II veteran and retired as a major from the Army. He then retired as a manager for Agway after 20 years.
He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was a volunteer at LAS/St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars, American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts. He belonged to the Lions.
Surviving are four sons, Roy H. and Sandy Grabman of Duncan, Okla., Lawrence "Larry" and Sandy Grabman of Gayla, Va., Roger Grabman of Atlanta, Ga., and Eric and Pam Grabman of Boardman, Ohio; two sisters, Laura Grabman of Zelienople and Mrs. Virginia Johnston of Texas; and two stepsons, Dwayne and Sally Hughes and Craig and Debbie Hughes, all of Butler.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Roy "Buzz" Jr., Steve, Jenny, Paola, Luis, Marylin, Erick and Brett Grabman, Randy and Lynne Hughes and Kelly (Mathew) Stahlman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Marburger Grabman, who died March 14, 1974; his second wife, Beryl K. Sarver Hughes Grabman, who died Nov. 29, 1983; two brothers, Henry and Paul Grabman; and a sister, Grace Colgin.
