Marie E. Posey, 80, of East Brady, formerly of R.D. 1, Chicora, died Monday at Sunnyview Home following an extended illness.

Born June 22, 1926, in Donegal Township, she was the daughter of George E. and Margaret Young.

She had worked as a nurse's aide at Chicora Medical Center for 15 years, where she also was a dietician for five years.

She was a graduate of Karns City High School. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bradys Bend.

She is survived by a son, Francis E. Posey of R.D. 1, Chicora; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Loretta) Hiles of Sun City, Ariz., Mrs. Robert Dean (Dorothy) Ekas of Chicora, Mrs. Michael (Catherine) Greco of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs. Lee (Patty) McGinnis of Chicora; Bernadette Hartwell of Manahton, Pa., and Mrs. Lee (Dona) Weyand of Rochester; and two brothers, Alfred Young of NumMine, Pa., and Francis Young of Catewissio, Pa.

Her husband, Steve Posey, whom she married March 17, 1946, died Sept. 30, 1964. A son and six brothers also preceded her in death.

<B>POSEY</B>— Friends of Marie E. Posey, who died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend with the Rev. Anthony Ditto officiating.Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bradys Bend.
