Capt. Todd Siebert
Capt. Todd Michael Siebert, 34, of Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of Fran-klin Park, was killed in action Friday while conducting combat operations in the Al-Anbar Province of Iraq.
Born March 22, 1972, in Bellevue, he was a graduate of North Allegheny High School, where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. He also was a graduate of Penn State University.
He was a member of the Marine Historical Society and an avid collector of World War II military memorabilia. He also enjoyed landscaping.
Capt. Siebert was in the 3rd Battalion of the 6th Marines and served his country in Afghanistan and Iraq.
He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Navy Unit Commendation.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas W. and Dorothy Weiss Siebert of Harmony; his wife, Darcy Shever Siebert, whom he married Aug. 8, 1994; two children, Nicholas and Alicia Siebert; a brother, Thomas Siebert and his wife, Tracey, of Harmony; two sisters, Diana Climo and her husband, Daniel, of Zelienople and Denise Ridenour and her husband, Glenn, of Wexford; and his father-in-law, Delmar Shever and his wife, Barbara, of Tampa, Fla.
