Dorathy G. Farnen

Dorathy Grace Farnen, 81, of Sunset Drive went to be with the Lord at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, June 18, 1925, she was the daughter of William C. and Ruth L. Steffen Mitchell.

She was a graduate of the Penn Township High School and retired from the A&P Store in Butler after 24 years. During World War II, she was employed at the Bantam Car Co.

Mrs. Farnen was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church and the Light of the World Charismatic Prayer Group. She formerly held Bible studies in her home.

She enjoyed playing cards. She was the heart of her family, was dearly loved by all and made her house a home.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent L. Farnen, whom she married April 29, 1943; five daughters, Sandy Christy of Butler, Mrs. Carmen (Cheri) Cagno of New Castle, Mrs. Rick (Cindy) Tracey of Sutton, Ontario Canada, Mrs. Dennis (Debby) Hawks of Butler and Mrs. Tom (Tammy) Carter of Keswick, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Mrs. June Moore of Murraysville; and a brother, James Mitchell of Genesee, Potter County.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.

<B>FARNEN</B> — Friends of Dorathy Grace Farnen, who died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Extension, with the Rev. James Salberg officiating.Burial will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
