Boy Scout Troop 554, chartered to the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, recently held a Court of Honor to recognize the achievements and progress of the scouts.Sixteen awards of rank advancement and 57 merit badges were presented to 11 scouts. Those honored were:
Matthew Clifford, Samuel Hanz, Brian Welsh, James Stull, Michael Joyce, Phillip Falchetti, Derek Giori, Nicholas Giori,
Eugene Steinke, Corey Tague and Antonio Giori.——The winners of the 2007 Pinewood Derby held by
Cub Scout Pack 51 of Saxonburg are
Brock Prendred, first;
Shane Sorg, second;
Elijah Webb, third; and
Noah Forester, fourth.——
Winfield Twp. Cub Scout Pack 55 held its pack meeting March 16.Two dozen Cub Scouts took their brightly painted race cars to the Winfield Township Volunteer Fire Co. in Cabot for their Pinewood Derby.The top four finishers were: first place,
Corey Simpson; second place,
Zachary Junk; third place,
Alex Seachrist; and fourth place,
Justin Hawk.Each Scout voted on the cars in various categories and the following received green ribbons: Best Cub Scout Spirit,
Sam Govan; Funniest Looking Design,
Chad Yaroschak; Fastest Looking Design,
Jacob Drane; Most Original Design,
Hunter and Codey Smith; and Overall Favorite Design,

Chad Yaroschak were recognized for achievements they earned so far this year.The following Scouts were recognized for participating in the Yukon Gold Rush at Camp Bucoco:
Cody Duke, John Peters, Codey Smith, Jacob Benzinger, Keefer Gregoire, Micah Keller, Jesse Peters, Hunter Neyman, Noah Swager and Chad Yaroschak.
Noah Swager, received first place for Broom Hilda Hockey and third place for Gold Digger Swing; and
Cody Duke received second place for Broom Hilda Hockey.
