Woman gets probation for helping fugitive

A Connoquenessing Township woman will spend a year on probation for helping to hide a fugitive wanted by Butler police for stabbing an elderly woman during a home invasion.

Tiffany Marie Kroll, 20, of 142 Reiber Road was sentenced Wednesday by Butler County Judge William Shaffer.

According to court documents, Kroll knew police were looking for Terrance Clowney, 20, when she helped him stay at a Butler Township motel for several days.

Police eventually arrested Clowney inside Kroll's car at the tier garage in downtown Butler.

Clowney later pleaded guilty to stabbing and robbing his former foster mother, Yvonne Cook, then 65, inside her city home.

Although Cook, who recognized her attacker, survived the Feb. 26, 2006, knife attack, she died eight months later.

Clowney earlier this year was sentenced to state prison for 10 to 20 years.

In addition to the probation, Kroll was ordered to pay a $200 fine.
