Mary Michalik
Mary Michalik, 89, formerly of Woodrow Street in Lyndora, died Saturday at the Kane Regi-onal Center, Scott Township, Alleg-heny County. She formerly lived at the Villa and the Townhouse apartments.
Born April 12, 1918, in Lyndora she was a daughter of Frank and Anna Linko Halahurich.
Mrs. Michalik was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and the Ladies Guild of the church.
She was an avid card player and was a member of several bridge clubs including the Butler Duplicate Bridge Club. She was also a member of the C.D. of A., the Greek Catholic Union and the Tanglewood Senior Center. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the 7 Oaks Country Club.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence D. Michalik and his wife, Susan, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Suzanne) King of Butler and Mrs. Dorothy Lepionka of DuBois; a grandson, Jacob Michalik of State College; a granddaughter, Larra Daniels and her husband, James, of Pittsburgh; and two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Delaney Daniels of Pittsburgh.
Her husband, Lawrence D. Michalik, whom she married May 9, 1940, died Nov. 27, 1980. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine Daniels; and a brother; and a sister.
Michalik — Friends of Mary Michalik, who died Saturday, May 12, 2007, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lyndora, with the Rev. Dennis Bogda officiating.
